Unit #1 was traveling south on State Route 49 in the outside southbound lane approaching the intersections with West Third Street. Unit #1 passed two semi-trucks on the right in the southbound right turn only lane; traveled through the intersection on to U.S Route 35 traveling south on the southbound shoulder; and collided with the rear of Unit #2. Unit #2 was traveling south on U.S. Route 35 and was crossing the southbound lanes to the shoulder to yield the right of way to the lights and sirens. The collision pushed Unit #2 across the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 35; over the raised median; into the northbound inside left turn lane; and collided with Unit #3. Unit #3 was stationary north on U.S. Route 35 in the inside left turn lane.
