This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Monday, June 3rd 2024 at approximately 6:59 am. The driver of silver not discernible. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

Unit #2 was southbound on I-71 approaching the over pass at E. Weber Rd. in the far right lane. Witness #1 was also southbound on I-71 approaching the E. Weber Rd. overpass; directly in front of Unit #2. Witness #2 was southbound on I-71 passing under E. Weber Rd. in the middle lane. Witness #2 stated that a person (unit #1) jumped off the overpass into the third lane in front of Witness #1. Witness #1 stated that he recognized that person jumped off the E. Weber Rd overpass in front of him; but he was able to swerve into the middle lane and avoid hitting the person. Unit #2 was not able to stop or swerve in time and struck the the person who had jumped into traffic.. Per ODOT traffic cameras; Unit #2; described as silver tractor with a white trailer; possibly with the word "PRIME" on the side; stopped near Hudson St. but then left the scene.
