This accident occurred on Thursday, May 23rd 2024 at approximately 6:36 am. Injuries were reported. An officer from Springdale Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

Unit 1 was traveling generally south in the right lane of SR 747 approaching 12185 SR 747 (Thorton's Gas Station). Unit 2 was traveling generally north on SR 747 in the continuous turn lane.  The operator of Unit 2 initiated an improper left turn to enter Thorton's; failing to yield the right of way to Unit 1. At this point; Unit 1's front left section made contact with Unit 2's right front section. After initial impact with Unit 1; Unit 2 became vertically displaced; rotating counter clockwise. Unit 2 then struck Unit 1 in the left side with the right side of Unit 2 in a side slap manner. Unit 2 continued to rotate counter clockwise while out of control; traveling across the southbound lanes before coming to an uncontrolled final rest facing generally east in the continuous turn lane. After impacts with Unit 2; Unit 1 traveled off the right side of the road and struck a curb. Unit 1 came to a controlled final rest facing generally south while straddling the sidewalk on the west side of the roadway. The driver of Unit 1 denied injury at the scene of the crash. The front passenger of Unit 2 was transported to UC West Chester where she succumbed to her injuries as a result of the crash.
