Unit 1 was traveling northbound on Byrne and in the turn lane to travel westbound on Hill. Unit 2 was traveling southbound on Byrne. Unit 1 was in the middle of the intersection waiting for traffic to clear finish making a left hand turn due to the light turning yellow. Unit 2 ran the red light; striking Unit 1. When Unit 2 struck Unit 1; the vehicle slid; flipped on its side; and struck a traffic light pole. The driver of Unit 2 was transported to UTMC with serious injuries by the Toledo Fire Department. Unit 1 was towed by Bubba's and Unit 2 was towed by Piasecki's and both were stored at 198 Dura with accident investigation holders. Investigation continues.
