This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at approximately 5:25 am. The driver of other improper action. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
The driver of Unit #2 stated that he was driving eastbound on Morse Road approaching the intersection of Stelzer Road. The driver of Unit #2 stated that he had the green light as he approached the intersection of Stelzer Road and upon approaching the intersection; Pedestrian unit #1 was in the roadway in the crosswalk. Unit #2 did not see Pedestrian Unit #1 and struck her. Pedestrian Unit #1 came to a rest near the center median on the opposite side of the intersection and Unit #2 pulled off to the side of the roadway where he proceeded to call 911. Wit #1 and Wit #2 who said that they were friends with Pedestrian Unit #1 both stated that Unit #2 had the green light and Pedestrian Unit #1 had crossed in front of Unit #2's right of way. CFD Medic 28 transported Pedestrian Unit #1 in stable condition to Mount Carmel East Hospital but she was later pronounced by ER staff at 6:20am due to injuries she sustained in the crash. At the time of this report the identification was unknown for Pedestrian Unit #1.. CPD Accident Investigative Unit was contacted and continued the investigation.
