At 1:09 am Officers Carlson #3441 and Schwartz #2923 arrived on scene at E. Broad St. In front of the Red Rock Pub. Other Officers on scene had already closed down the roadway and had Columbus Fire Medic 5 arrive and pronounce the time of death at 1:06. Officers spoke with a driver that was on scene near the victim who said that there were two cars that hit the victim and drove off and had no positive identification of the vehicles. Based on what the officers observed on scene; based upon the evidence and placement of the victim; it was determined that the victim was crossing E. Broad st. Southbound when struck by unit 2 who was traveling westbound. The victim then began to crawl southbound after being struck and was struck by unit 3 who was heading eastbound. Detective Mcwhorter #2181 with Accident Investigation Unit arrived and investigated the scene. Officers were unable to discover a vehicle involved after following possible leads during the on scene investigation. The scene was cleared at 3:48 am after the victim was transported to the morgue and roadway was washed.
