Unit 1 was reported to have been traveling at a high rate of speed on 77 south near the 142-mile marker. Unit 2 was traveling south near the 142-mile marker in the right lane. Roadway markings show a tire mark and gouges in the roadway from Unit 1. Unit 1 struck the back of Unit 2. Unit 2 swerved into and struck the trailer of Unit 3; which was in the left lane. Unit 2 rolled multiple times and came to final rest in the median. Unit 1 slid into the median and came to final rest. The trailer of Unit 3 struck the operator of Unit 1. The operator of Unit 1 sustained fatal injuries. Unit 3 continued traveling south and came to a stop. Unit 2 had disabling damage. The operator of Unit 2 sustained no injuries. Unit 3 sustained minor damage. The operator of Unit 3 had no injuries.
