This accident occurred on Friday, March 8th 2024 at approximately 1:46 am. Injuries were reported. An officer from Anderson (Township of) Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

Unit 1 was traveling east in the 8000 block of Beechmont Ave.  The driver of Unit 1 allowed her vehicle to strike a raised concrete curb to a landscaped median and she lost control.  Unit 1 traveled through the landscaped median and crossed over the westbound lanes running off the north side of the roadway.  With its right side; Unit 1 struck a large utility pole causing severe damage and breaking the pole.  During maximum engagement with the wooden utility pole; Unit 1 was displaced along its vertical axis and rotated clockwise.  The force from the impact broke the frame of the vehicle and the only thing keeping the car from ripping in two was the roof.  The unrestrained driver of Unit 1 was tossed from her seat during the collision and her head struck interior portions of the vehicle. Unit 1 came to a final uncontrolled rest facing north in the parking lot of Hair Dynasty; 8090 Beechmont Ave. The driver of Unit 1 was transported by Anderson Township EMS to UC Medical Center where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
