An officer from Lake (Township of) Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

Unit 1 was traveling north bound on CR 18. Unit 1 failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the right side of the roadway. Unit 1 traveled down an embankment; through bushes before coming to final rest. The driver was found deceased laying on the ground next to the driver's door. A CVS pill bottle containing suboxone packages; a crystal like substance and blue tablets with the imprint of S 90 3 was found in the male's front right coat pocket. Contact was made by the Bellefontaine Police Department with the mother of the deceased driver to advise her of death. The Montgomery County Coroner's Office transported the body from the scene to take over the investigation. The Multi County Crash Team documented the crash scene. 02/20/2024 The Montgomery County Coroner's Office contacted our Office in reference to the deceased. The coroner advised the preliminary cause of death appears to be swelling of the brain from a previous crash in Dayton.
