This crash occurred southbound IR75 approximately 166 feet south of 12.6 mile post. Unit 1 was traveling southbound IR75 when it stopped and parked at the end of the gore area; separating the main travel lanes of IR75 from the Shepherd Lane On Ramp. The front seat passenger of Unit 1 exited the vehicle to investigate a reported low tire pressure warning light; thus becoming Unit 2. Unit 2; while investigating possible low tire pressure; left the front passenger door to Unit 1 open in the active On Ramp travel lane while also walking/standing in that same active travel lane. Unit 3; a pizza delivery vehicle; was operating generally southbound on the Shepherd Lane On Ramp to south IR75. The operator of Unit 3 reports looking in the vehicle mirror/blind spot in preparation to merge into traffic; failing to observe Unit 2 in the travel lane or the door to Unit 1 open in the travel lane. The front left corner portion of Unit 3 impacted Unit 2 as well as the front passenger door of Unit 1. Post collision; Unit 1 was reversed northwards into the gore area. Unit 2 came to an uncontrolled final rest facing generally east in the merge lane of south IR75 from Shepherd Lane. Unit 3 came to a controlled final rest facing generally south on the right shoulder of IR75.
