This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Wednesday, January 24th 2024 at approximately 9:45 pm. The driver of red Honda (2005) unsafe speed. Injuries were reported. An officer from Lorain Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit #2 is a unmarked Lorain Police Cruiser. Unit #2 was parked facing south to north on Homewood Dr in front of 2349 for an emergency call. Unit #2's head & tailights were on as well as it's emergency lights. Unit #1 was e/b on Homewood Drive. Unit #1 was traveling at a high rate of speed; traveling on the centerline in the 2300 block as it passed by multiple Lorain Police Cruisers parked on both sides of the street with emergency lights on and struck Unit #1. Multiple witnesses observed Unit #1 traveling at a high rate of speed just before the crash with one estimating the motorcycle's speed to be between 75 and 100 mph.
