Unit 1 was southbound on Riverside Avenue and failed to negotiate a curve crossing the centerline then driving off the left side of the roadway. Unit 1 struck a ditch and the motorcycle spun 90 degrees clockwise at which time the driver was thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle rolled onto its left side at which time it struck the driver in the face.
