This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Sunday, November 19th 2023 at approximately 7:50 pm. The driver of black Dodge (2019) unsafe speed. Injuries were reported. An officer from Cleveland Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit #1 is travelling southbound on E 139th St. well in excess of the posted speed limit. Unit #1 lost control; travelling off the left side of the roadway; striking a tree on the tree lawn of 3369 E 139th St. Unit #1 continued in a southerly direction through several front yards. Unit #1 struck the porch of 3401(Owner: SEES INC.) and the front of the building of 3405 E 139th St.(Owner: SEES INC.); breaching the exterior wall. Unit #1 continued in a southerly direction through a vacant lot and struck the front porch of 3421 E 139th St.(Owner: Darryl Gaither) before coming to final rest. The driver of Unit #1 then fled the scene. Unit #1 breaching the exterior wall of 3405 E 139th St. caused the gas line to fail; which caused the address of 3405 E 139th St. to explode minutes after the accident. April Yarbrough was inside the address at the time of the explosion.
