This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Tuesday, December 19th 2023 at approximately 9:20 am. The driver of blue Jeep (2004) left of center. Injuries were reported. An officer from BOWLING GREEN (Township of) Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
On 12/19/2023; the Licking County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to an injury collision with an entrapment at 12991 National Road (US 40) Thornville; Bowling Green Township; Licking County; Ohio. On arrival; unit one was facing westbound on the north side of the roadway. Unit 2 was on it's side; facing westbound; and in front of unit one. The driver of unit one was extricated out of the vehicle and transported to Mount Carmel East by West Licking Fire Department in critical condition. The driver of unit two was transported to Mount Carmel East by Licking Township Fire Department in serious condition. Deputy Maddux went to Mount Carmel East to find out statuses on both drivers. On arrival; Deputy Maddux was advised unit one was pronounced deceased on arrival at the hospital. Unit two was in serious condition but stable. Witness one advised he was traveling westbound behind unit one. Witness one explained unit one went off the roadway on the right side; then went across both lanes of travel; and hit the guardrail. After hitting the guardrail; unit one spun about 180 degrees and struck the orange semi heading eastbound. After the collision; unit one came to a rest in the ditch on the north side of the roadway facing westbound. Witness one continued to say; unit two after the collision; overturned and came to a rest in the north ditch facing westbound. W
