This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Sunday, December 17th 2023 at approximately 6:31 pm. The driver of improper crossing. Injuries were reported. An officer from Findlay Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit 1 was traveling northbound in the northbound right lane of Interstate 75 (I-75). There was a pedestrian attempting to cross the I-75 northbound lanes of traffic from the west to east. Near the W. Trenton Ave underpass; Unit 1 struck this pedestrian with the center front of the vehicle; causing disabling damage to Unit 1. The pedestrian was transported by Hanco EMS to Blanchard Valley Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The vehicle was towed away by D&D Towing. Unit 1 driver and passenger were both checked by Hanco EMS with no injuries and released on scene. On 12/17/2023 at 1832 hours; Ofcr. Schroeder #2033 and I were dispatched to I-75 at Trenton Ave. reference a suicide attempt in progress report. Dispatch advised a black male jumped over the highway from the overpass. I arrived on I-75 just north of Trenton Ave. overpass. I found a Chevy Bolt Michigan registration #EPA2507 stopped in the right most; north bound lane with its hazard lights on. A female identified as Jianna Lynn Taylor; exited from the drivers seat; yelling that a male ran right in front of her. I told her to get out of the road and observed a black male; later identified as Belony Pierre; laying face down in front of the Chevy; in the same lane. Belony's legs were facing west bound and head east bound. I rolled Belony to his back and found him to be bleeding from multiple
