The collision occurred on N. High Street south of W. Lane Ave and north of Frambes Ave. Unit 2 stated he was headed southbound and slowed in traffic due to a pedestrian crossing N. High Street at Frambes Ave. Witness stated it appeared Unit 1 was traveling at a high rate of speed headed northbound on N. High Street. Witness stated Unit 1 attempted to avoid the pedestrian at the crosswalk and swerved left and struck Unit 2 head on. Unit 1 as transported by CFD Medic 7 to OSU Main in serious condition. Unit 1 was pronounced at OSU Main at 16:47. Unit 2 reported no injuries. AIU detectives responded to scene. Unit 2 was towed by Pro Tow for the owner to the City of Columbus Insurance Lot. Unit 1 was towed and impounded for safekeeping to the City of Columbus Impound Lot.
