This accident occurred on Sunday, September 17th 2023 at approximately 7:03 pm. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
On the listed date; time and location; Unit 1 ran into the street in front of Unit 2 who was pulling away from the curb after dropping children off at the residence. The driver of Unit 2 realized that she had run over Unit 1 and stopped and was on scene when Officers arrived. Columbus Fire Medic 20 transported Unit 1 to Children's Hospital in critical condition where she was later pronounced at 1955. AIU was contacted and arrived on scene where they conducted their investigation. It was determined that Unit 1 was at fault for running in the street. The driver of Unit 2 was verified through LEADS and it was determined that she was blank and valid. Investigators had the vehicle impounded for a hold for evidence and the driver of Unit 2 was released. Protow towed Unit 2 to the Columbus Police Impound lot.
