UNIT #1 WAS WESTBOUND ON IR 70 JUST WEST OF IR 270 ON THE EAST SIDE OF COLUMBUS. ACCORDING TO WITNESSES AND PHYSICAL EVIDENCE; UNIT #1 WENT OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROADWAY; OVER THE MEDIAN CABLE BARRIER INTO THE #1 EASTBOUND LANE. UNIT #1 THEN WENT BACK RIGHT INTO THE GRASSY MEDIAN; STRUCK A GUARD RAIL AND A BRIDGE PILLAR FOR THE NOE-BIXBY RD OVERPASS. UNIT #1 THEN VAULTED OVER THE GUARD RAIL AND MEDIAN CABLE BARRIER AND CAME TO FINAL REST IN THE WESTBOUND LANES OF IR 70; JUST WEST OF THE NOE-BIXBY RD OVERPASS. DRIVER #1 WAS TRANSPORTED BY TORO TOWNSHIP FIRE MEDIC # 162 TO GRANT MEDICAL CENTER. DRIVER #1 WAS PRONOUNCED DECEASED BY MEDICAL PERSONNEL AT 1:24 PM. ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION DETECTIVES WERE NOTIFIED AND RESPONDED TO THE SCENE FOR THE INVESTIGATION.
