Description

This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Tuesday, October 3rd 2023 at approximately 10:35 pm. The driver of unknown Gillig (2014) failure to yield. Injuries were reported. Additional Narrative

The driver on unit 1 stated he was heading west bound on E. 11th Ave making a left; south bound turn onto Fields Ave. The driver of unit 1 stated he saw traffic a ways west on E. 11th Ave so he made the turn. The driver on unit 1 stated while he was turning he heard; what he thought was an explosion; which was unit 2 striking unit 1. The witnesses stated they were heading east on E. 11th Ave but did not see the collision because unit 2 was too far ahead of them. CFD medic #18 arrived on scene and pronounced the driver of unit 2 deceased at 10:43pm. AIU was contacted and responded. Unit 2 was impounded at CPD impound lot.
