Description

Additional Narrative

Unit 1 was eastbound on Vernon Odom Blvd negotiating a curve at a high rate of speed. Unit 1 went off the right side of the roadway before correcting; coming back onto Vernon Odom BLVD. Unit 1 lost control a second time; going off the ride side of the roadway. Unit 1 started to go into a sideways slide; striking a tree on the passenger side. This sent Unit 1 straight into a second tree tree; causing it to rotate 90 degrees clockwise coming to final rest. The passenger of Unit 1 was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of Unit 1 was arrested for OVI.
