This accident, involving 1 vehicle occurred on Thursday, August 3rd 2023 at approximately 3:28 pm. The driver of gold Toyota (2002) drove off road. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit #1 stated he was traveling eastbound on McCutcheon Rd.; in the area of Willow Spings Dr. when he went off the road and struck a utility/telephone pole in the area of 2214 McCutcheon Rd. Unit #1 stated he doesn't remember striking the pole or anything that happened before the crash. No other vehicles were involved; but there was significant damage to the utility pole. CFD Medic 28 responded and transported Unit #1 to St. Ann's Hospital in stable condition with moderate to major injuries. Unit #1's vehicle was disabled and towed from the scene. Officer followed up at St. Ann's Hospital where he was informed by on-duty personnel that Unit #1 sustained serious injuries to his head and chest but was stable. Due to the significant damage to the telephone pole; Unit #1 was cited for Failure to Control.
