Additional Narrative

Unit #1 was traveling East on E Broad Street approaching Preston Road; when the driver had a cardiac emergency causing him to drive over the median and strike a tree. Driver #1 was transported to OSU East Hospital by Columbus Fire Medic #8. MD Runkle pronounced Driver #1 dead at 11:03 AM as a result of a cardiac event. Bexely Police were originally dispatched; it was later determined the crash initiated on Columbus. The Vehicle was impounded to the Columbus Police Impound Lot. AIS was contacted and responded to scene.
