Additional Narrative

Driver of unit 1 stated he was driving East on E 5th Ave approaching Airway Dr. Driver of Unit 1 stated he lost control of his vehicle causing him to merge onto the westbound lane; and onto incoming traffic. Driver of unit 1 stated he crashed head on with the driver of unit 2. Medic 20 arrived on scene. Driver of unit 1 did not need any medical attention. Driver of unit 2 was taken to Grant Hospital in critical condition. The passenger of unit 2 was transported to Mt Carmel East in stable condition. While at Grant Hospital Driver of unit 2 was Pronounced deceased at 9:29 PM. Officers reached out to Accident Investigation Unit. Accident Investigation Unit will be responding to the scene to complete the investigation.
