This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Friday, May 19th 2023 at approximately 11:38 am. The driver of red Suzuki (2007) ran red light. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit 1 was on a motorcycle traveling eastbound on E Dublin Granville Rd. Unit 2 was stopped in the left turn lane on E Dublin Granville Rd to get on I71 SB. When Unit 2 got a green light it proceed through the intersection. Unit 1 failed to stop for a displayed red traffic light and struck Unit 2 on the rear passenger side. The operator of Unit 1 was ejected from his motorcycle into the rear backseat of Unit 2. The rear passengers of Unit 2 were both injured due to the impact of the collision. The driver of Unit 2; and the front row passengers were not injured in the collision. Witnesses stated that Unit 1 was travelling at a high rate of speed when he struck Unit 2. Both vehicles were disabled upon impact. Occupants 3 and 4 of Unit 2 were transported to the hospital in critical condition. The Operator of Unit 1 was pronounced by CFD EMS 12 at the scene of the collision at 11:46 p.m. AIU investigators responded to process the scene of the accident.
