Unit 1 was southbound on CR 330; near SR 568. Unit 1 struck unit 2; who was westbound on SR 568 at the intersection. Both units sustained disabling damage. On April 10; 2023 at approximately 2101 hours I was dispatched to the intersection of SR 568 and CR 330 for an injury accident. Dispatch advised a truck and a car were involved; and a utility pole was struck; leaving live wires in the roadway. As I arrived on scene; Vanlue Fire Department advised one of the occupants of the accident was deceased. I exited my patrol vehicle and observed a gray Ram 3500; bearing Illinois registration 3648937B; resting upright with heavy disabling damage in the field on the southwest corner of the intersection; along the ditch line. I then observed a silver Kia Soul; bearing Ohio registration EOM4639; resting upright with heavy disabling damage on the southwest corner of the intersection; just south of SR 568 beside a utility pole. Deputy Ritter advised when he arrived on scene he was contacted by two witnesses to the accident; Kurt and Jessica Roszman. Both Kurt and Jessica completed witness statements; advising they had observed the Ram traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on CR 330 approaching SR 568. Kurt and Jessica advised they did not think the Ram was going to stop; and it did not; running the stop sign at the intersection and striking the Kia. Kurt and Jessica'
