This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Thursday, February 16th 2023 at approximately 4:39 pm. The driver of failure to yield. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
On 2/16/2023 Officers A. Parker and K. Mori were dispatched to a pedestrian struck auto accident. Officers arrived on scene and saw a pedestrian; John Doe; laying on Hamilton Road just south of Eastland One. Officers also observed Unit 1 bearing OH Tag (JYA2051) stopped 20 feet south of the pedestrian. Unit 1 had passenger side damage and the windshield was caved in. Unit 1 driver stated that she was traveling south on Hamilton Road and when she saw the pedstrian enter the roadway; she attempted to swerve to not stike the pedestrian. Driver of Unit 1 stated the light was green. Passengers of Unit 1 stated that Unit 1 driver was speeding on Hamilton Road when the pedestrian stepped out on the roadway. Pedestrian was transported to MCE by Madison Twsp 183 and prounounced at 1711. Front Passenger of Unit 1 was transported to MCE by CFD Medic 4 in critical condition. Unit 1 was taken to the impound lot as evidence. AIU detectives responded.
