Unit 1 was heading north west on Monroe St. Unit 1 struck the light pole on the northwest corner of Monroe at Robinwood. The driver and passenger were trapped in the vehicle and had to extricated mechanically. The passenger in Unit 1 was pronounced deceased at 0222 hours by TFD 7. The driver of Unit 1 was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital via Life Squad 4.
