This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Thursday, January 5th 2023 at approximately 9:49 pm. The driver of improper crossing. Injuries were reported. An officer from CIRCLEVILLE (TOWNSHIP OF) Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

Unit 2 was traveling northbound on U.S. 23 when a pedestrian (Unit 1) walked out in front of Unit 2 causing Unit 2 to strike the pedestrian. The pedestrian was then stuck in the windshield of Unit 2 and had to be extracted from the vehicle. Unit 2 suffered disabling damages and was taken back to the Sheriff's Office for investigation purposes. Driver of unit 2 advised that he did have insurance through Geico; but did not know where the insurance card is currently at and would call into the office once he gets the information. On January 6; 2023 at 0012 hrs.; Grant Hospital advised Unit 1 passed away. On January 5th; 2023 at 2149 HRS this unit was south bound on US 23 approaching the area of Burger King.  At this point I observed a male in all dark clothing standing in the left passing lane.  I immediately swerved to the right to avoid hitting the person.  I advised dispatch via radio of the encounter and also advised that I was swinging around in an attempt to locate the male. I made a U-turn at Sperry Drive and started back northbound when I found that a northbound vehicle had struck the pedestrian.  The vehicle had come to rest northbound on US 23 just west of the south end of the Sheets gas station property.  There were no cross walks in the immediate area of the crash.  Upon further checking I found the male impaled into the windshield of the northbound vehicle.  Medic
