This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Sunday, January 15th 2023 at approximately 3:35 am. The driver of white BMW (2015) wrong way. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

On January 15; 2023 at 03:35 a.m. Unit 1 had entered S.R. 161 from Sunbury Rd. traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes (the wrong way). Unit 2 had exited southbound I-270 onto eastbound S.R 161 and was traveling in the #2 lane. Unit #1 was also in the #2 lane while traveling the wrong way. Unit 1 and unit 2 struck head-on. Unit 1 and unit 2 sustained disabling damage. The driver of unit 1 was transported to Mount Carmel East in stable condition by CFD Medic 24. The driver to unit 2 was transported to Grant Medical Center by Blendon Township Medic 112 and the passenger of unit 2 was transported to Riverside Hospital by CFD Medic 6 in stable condition. Ultimately the driver of unit 2 was pronounced deseased at 6:17 a.m. Both units were towed by Pro-Tow for safekeeping.
