On January 13th; 2023; Officers witnessed an accident at the intersection of Cleveland Ave and 17th Ave. Officers were sitting at a red light when the accident occurred. Officer's then marked on the air that there was an accident; and advised radio to start a couple of medics. Officers were able to speak with the driver of Unit #2 who stated they were traveling northbound on Cleveland Ave; when Unit #1 pulled out in front of them. Officers were able to look at the cameras and see that the driver of Unit #1 made a left turn from Cleveland Ave to 17th Ave in front of Unit #2 causing the accident. The driver of Unit #2 did have the green light traveling northbound on Cleveland at the time of the accident. Driver of Unit #1 failed to yield for the left turn; which caused the accident. The driver of Unit #1 was transported to Grant by CFD Medic 18 in stable condition; and the passenger of Unit #1 was transported to Grant in serious condition by CFD Medic 1. There was also two juvenile passengers that were in Unit #2 that were transported to Children’s both in stable condition one by CFD Medic 7 and the other by CFD Medic 8. The passenger of Unit #1 was pronounced at Grant Medical at 4:20AM by Doctor Hill.
