This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Tuesday, June 14th 2022 at approximately 8:55 pm. The driver of blue; light Dodge (2007) drove off road. Injuries were reported. An officer from New Philadelphia Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

Multiple reportees reported a vehicle striking a person at 1811 E. High and was driving away from the scene. Responding units found two males injured on scene; both had been sitting outside the apartments on a covered sidewalk. Unit 1 struck unit 2; driving the male into the brick building and through the closed apartment door. Unit 1 then struck unit 3 who was also sitting on the sidewalk. Unit 1 struck a pole support for the second floor walkway; ran over the back tire of a 3 wheeled bicycle and left the scene westbound on Geottge. Both males were transported. NPPD was later informed that unit 2's injuries were fatal. NPPD Sergeant Morris located unit 1 and determined the driver to be the registered owner. Unit 1 owner was arrested and is pending charges.
