All units were northbound on Interstate Route 75. Unit # 8 failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead; striking Unit # 5; Unit # 7; and then Unit # 4. Unit # 4 was pushed forward into Unit # 3. Unit # 8 continued forward striking Unit # 3. Unit # 3 was pushed forward into Unit # 2. Unit # 8 driver's side steer tire broke off; striking Unit # 6. Unit # 8 continued forward striking Unit # 2 and Unit # 1. Unit # 5 and Unit # 7 were pushed forward striking each other. Unit # 5 and Unit # 4 were pushed forward striking each other. Unit # 8 continued forward striking the concrete median divider and partially overturning. Unit # 1 continued forward striking the concrete median divider.
