This accident, involving 1 vehicle occurred on Wednesday, December 14th 2022 at approximately 1:16 am. The driver of white GMC (2016) drove off road. Injuries were reported. An officer from PERRY Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

The investigation revealed that a 911 call was dispatched for the Driver of Unit 1 who was seen passed out at the intersection of Call Road and Middle Ridge Road. Perry Township Fire arrived to assist; and provide Unit 1 medical attention if needed. Perry Township Fire stated the Driver of Unit 1 woke up and sped away quickly; eastbound on Middle Ridge Road. Tire tracks in the 4980 block of Middle Ridge Road showed in the grass off the shoulder; indicating Driver of Unit 1 swerved off the road right; corrected; crossed over the center line; off the left shoulder; over a mailbox and garbage can; and through several lawns. The vehicle crashed directly into a tree and flipped on the driver side; causing the driver to be trapped in the front yard of 5031 Middle Ridge Road. Perry Township Fire and Rescue extracted him with the jaws of life but felt no signs of life. The Lake County Accident Reconstruction Team arrived and processed the scene. Photographs were taken of the scene and attached to this report. King???s Towing and Garage removed the vehicle. The coroner arrived and declared the driver deceased.
