This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Wednesday, November 23rd 2022 at approximately 11:42 pm. The driver of red Ford (2018) failure to yield. Injuries were reported. An officer from TOLEDO Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
On the listed date and time unit 1 was eastbound Ottawa at Upton; stopped for a blinking red light. As unit 1 accelerated through the intersection she failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by unit 2; who was southbound Upton through the intersection of Ottawa. Unit 2 laid his bike down just prior to entering the intersection; and struck the rear driver side of unit 1. Unit 1 submitted to a breathalyzer; with a BAC of 0.048. She was also found to be suspended. Unit 2 was also found to be suspended and is believed to have been intoxicated as well; with a satchel of budlight platinum found with the motorcycle. Unit 2 did not wear a helmet. The driver of unit 2 was pronounced deceased at Toledo Hospital at 0020 hours. Unit 1 stated she had insurance but was unable to provide proof. No insurance was found for unit 2. No one cited at the time of this report; as the investigation is ongoing.
