This accident, involving 1 vehicle occurred on Friday, October 28th 2022 at approximately 1:37 am. The driver of unknown Freightliner (2012) load shifting/falling/spilling. Injuries were reported. An officer from Stow Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

Unit 1 was traveling southbound on State Route 8 approaching mile marker 8.4. As it was traveling it left the roadway to the right. As the driver brought the semi back into the lane of travel it began tipping over onto it's passenger side; tipped; then continued sliding southbound toward the ditch. The semi rolled over onto its roof as it slid into the ditch at which point the fuel that was in the tanker exploded causing the semi-truck to catch fire. The driver of the vehicle was trapped in the cab after the truck had rolled onto its roof causing the fatality.
