Unit #2 was southbound on Given Road approaching Beech Trail. Unit #1 was also southbound Given Road approaching Beech Trail and was gaining on Unit #2. Unit #1 started to pass Unit #2 by going into the northbound lane. Unit #2 signaled with his left arm and made a left turn into the path of Unit #1. Unit #1 struck Unit #2 causing the rider of Unit #2 to be thrown in the air and into the ditch on the left side of the roadway just south of Beech Trail. Unit #1 went off the left side of the road into the ditch; struck an embankment; rotated in counterclockwise striking a utility pole. The rider of Unit #2 suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
