This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Saturday, August 20th 2022 at approximately 1:48 am. The driver of lying in roadway. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

Unit 1 was laying in the roadway in the southbound lane nearest to the median of Hamilton Rd. Unit 2 was traveling southbound on Hamiltion Rd. Driver of Unit 2 stated she struck Unit 1 and Unit 1 went underneath Unit 2. Driver of Unit 2 stated that she did not see Unit 1 laying in the roadway until it was too late to avoid Unit 1 or stop. Unit 1 suffered fatal injuries and was pronouced deceased by Columbus Fire Medic 4 at 1:53 AM. Unit 2 appeared to suffer no damage aside from contact markings on the underside of the vehicle and was able to be driven from the scene. Witness 1 stated that she heard the accident happen but did not see it. AIU detectives responded to process the scene.
