This accident, involving 1 vehicle occurred on Saturday, August 13th 2022 at approximately 10:48 pm. The driver of silver Nissan (2015) drove off road. Injuries were reported. An officer from TOLEDO Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit1 was traveling Westbound on Heatherdowns Blvd. As Unit1 traveled through the intersection of Brierheath Ave it went off the roadway to the right and entered the grassy area between the side walk and the roadway. Unit1 continued traveling in this area until it stuck a tree; in front of 3250 Heatherdowns; and came to rest. The driver; Ashley Parker; was found after the collision by passer by and witness; Jennifer Asztalos. Asztalos stated she was traveling behind Unit1 and observed it go off the roadway to the right and then strike a tree. Asztalos stated she and neighbors from the surrounding homes in front of 3250 Heatherdowns found Parker at the wheel of Unit1 unresponsive after the collision. Asztalos stated at that time Unit1 started smoking. Asztalos stated herself and said neighbors were able to extract Parker out the passenger front door of Unit1 after prying the door open. Asztalos shortly after Parker was extracted from Unit1 the vehicle became engulfed in flames. Shortly afterwards TFD arrived on scene and rendered medical aid to Parker. Parker was transported by TFD to Toledo Hospital where she was pronounced deceased by medical staff at 0013 hours on 08/14/2022. This Officer's body camera was present and active.
