This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Thursday, June 16th 2022 at approximately 8:53 pm. The driver of red Jeep (2011) left of center. Injuries were reported. An officer from Cuyahoga Falls Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit 1 was eastbound on W Portage Trail just past Northampton Rd. Unit 2 was westbound on W Portage Trail approacing Northampton Rd. Unit 2 went left of center side swiping Unit 1; continued to veer left onto Northampton Rd; went off the road and drove over parking curbs in the private lot of 640 W Portage Trail; then proceeded across a field and crashed into the residence of 1778 Northampton Rd H7 where it came to final rest. The driver of Unit 2 was found to be non-responsive with no pulse. CFFD transported the driver of Unit 2 to Western Reserve Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 2130 hours of an apparent cardiac arrest. The Summit Metro Crash Response Team (SMCRT) was activated and processed the scene. SMCRT investigation is pending at time of report.
