This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Tuesday, June 14th 2022 at approximately 3:07 pm. The driver of blue Dodge (2004) wrong way. Injuries were reported. An officer from Pleasant (Township of) Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

On Tuesday 06/14/2022 at approx. 1507 hours the Van Wert County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call of 2 vehicle crash on US Rt 30 east of Dutch John Road.  Unit #1 was east bound in the driving lane just past the intersection of Dutch John Road.  Unit #2 was west bound on US Rt 30 approx.  .25 east of Dutch John Rd.  Unit #2 went of the left side of the roadway.  It continued off the roadway striking a "No left turn' sign and then a 'Wrong way' sign.  Unit #2 then entered the East Bound lanes of US Rt 30 striking Unit #1.   Unit #1 stated he saw the blue car; Unit #2; cross the median and he tried to swerve at of it's way; but the Unit #2 struck Unit #1.  The driver of Unit#2 was pronounced dead at the scene.
