On March 18; 2022 Unit #1 was traveling at a high rate of speed in the right local lane of IR-271 northbound. Unit #1 went off the roadway to the right; continued up a grass embankment while still traveling northbound. At the Fairmount Boulevard overpass; Unit #1 traveled from the grass embankment onto concrete. Until #1 veered left and started to travel west; back toward the roadway. Unit #1 struck a cement support pillar that holds up Fairmount Boulevard head on. Unit #1 caught fire and became fully engulfed with flames. The lone occupant of Unit #1 was pronounced dead at the scene.
