This accident, involving 5 vehicles occurred on Monday, March 14th 2022 at approximately 9:32 pm. The driver of cream Lincoln (2005) not discernible. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

The collision occurred near the intersection of E Broad St and Shadymere Ln. Based on witness statements; Unit #1 and Unit #2 were racing eastbound on E Broad street when Unit #3 pulled out (from a business) onto E Broad St. Unit #4 was also headed eastbound on E Broad St. Unit #1; #2; and #3 collided; causing unit #3 to flip/rollover into the ditch and land on it's roof; trapping the driver of Unit #3. Unit #1 also went into the ditch. Unit #2 ran off the roadway; hitting signs and a pole. Unit #2 rear ended Unit #4; causing unit #4 to flip multiple times. Unit #4 hit Unit #5 which was stopped at the intersection/traffic light facing north. The driver of Unit #3 was transported to MCE by CFD Medic 23 in stable condition. The driver of Unit #5 was transported to MCE by CFD Medic 161 in stable condition. The driver and occupants of unit #1 (two adults; one toddler; one infant) and the driver of Unit #2 left the scene prior to officers arriving. The driver of Unit #4 was a fatality and produced by Whitehall Medic 142 at 9:47 PM. (DOB for deceased driver of unit #4 is not correct; identity is not determined. Report would not close without a DOB; DOB used is of the register owner not victim/driver).
