Unit 1 was WB on S Clair Ave; traveled out of control; struck the north curb; ran off the right side of the road; and struck a wooden utility pole 38 ft west of E 106th St. Unit1 rotated off the pole; ejecting the driver. Unit 1 and the operator came to rest on the sidewalk. The operator of Unit 1 was pronounced dead at 0141 hours per Dr Rushing at University Hospital.
