Unit #1 was traveling westbound on Sharon Copley Rd. in the 4400 block just west of Highland Green Dr. Unit #2; a pedestrian; was standing on the north side of the road near the driveway of 4383 Sharon Copley Rd. As Unit #1 was approaching Unit #2; Unit #1 began to drive into the eastbound lane to avoid driving too closely to Unit #2. As Unit #1 was starting to pass Unit #2; Unit #2 then jumped at the passenger's side of Unit #1's vehicle and was struck by the mirror. Unit #2 also struck the rear passenger's side door handle and broke it off as well. A witness at the scene had pulled off in his vehicle and stated that Unit #2 had also tried to jump in front of his car but was unsuccessful. Unit #2 was transported to Medina Hospital by Medina Life Support Team. Unit #1 was able to be driven from the scene. On 10/17/2021; at 0641 hours; Unit #2 passed away as a result of his injuries.
