It was concluded that both units 1 and 2 were west bound on 116 when unit 1 struck the rear of unit 2. After unit 1 struck unit 2 it then went into the roadside ditch on the north side of the roadway and the car became engulfed in flames. Unit 2 continued quarter of a mile west on 116 until it could come to a complete stop due to the fact that when unit 1 struck unit 2 it lost its air bags for the brake system.
