This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Saturday, October 23rd 2021 at approximately 8:13 pm. The driver of other improper action. Injuries were reported. An officer from Fairborn Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit 1 was walking eastbound on W Dayton Dr at S Central Ave. Unit 2 was traveling northbound on S Central Ave at E Dayton Dr. Unit 1 was improperly crossing S Central Ave when they were struck by Unit 2. On October 27; 2021 I attempted to contact Jacob Snyder via phone. I spoke with Jacobs’s father; Christopher Snyder; who stated that he was Jacobs’s legal guardian. Christopher informed me that Jacob was not currently home and asked if he could give any assistance. I explained to Christopher that I was calling to schedule a time for a follow up interview with Jacob. Christopher asked what date worked and I suggested Friday morning. Christopher stated he would notify Jacob and if there were any schedule conflicts he would have Jacob contact me to schedule a different time. On October 29; 2021; Jacob and Christopher arrived at the Fairborn PD lobby and agreed to complete a follow up interview. I asked Jacob how he was doing to ensure he felt comfortable talking about the incident. Jacob advised he was doing the best he could with the situation. I asked Jacob to verbally walk me though the incident to the best of his ability. Jacob advised that he was driving northbound on S Central Ave approaching the intersection of Dayton Dr. Jacob stated his light was green so he continued driving but began slowing down because he knew the speed limit dropped to 25 MPH.
