On Saturday; 4 September 2021 at approximately 1030 hours; Unit 1 crossed the median on Valley Parkway near Lee Road and struck Unit 2; causing a fatal traffic collision. r n r nUnit 1 was a bicycle operated by Terry Bork. Bork was northbound with two other riders on Valley Parkway near Lee Road. The rearmost rider; Lawrence McFadden; saw Bork s bicycle begin to wobble and he suddenly lost all control due to an apparent mechanical issue with the front tire. Bork failed to regain control of his bicycle and sharply crossed the center line and struck Unit 2; operated by Nasja Washington. r n r nThe point of impact between Unit 1 and Unit 2 was on the front left corner of Unit 2. r n r nUnit 2 sustained minor damage to the bumper and driver s door. r n r nUnit 1 sustained severe disabling damage to the frame; front fork and handlebar. r n r nBoth operators were transported to Southwest Hospital for treatment. Bork was pronounced deceased at 1103 hours due to blunt force trauma to the head and carotid artery. Washington was treated for a severe panic attack and released. r n r nMcFadden and Jason Dallas (second rider with Bork) both reported that Washington was moving straight ahead and did not appear to be speeding. r n r n
