Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Chagrin Blvd. approaching Addison Ln. The driver of unit 1 lost control and left the roadway to the left. Unit 1 went up an embankment. Unit 1 struck a tree stump and went airborne. The passenger was thrown from the vehicle. The passenger was wearing a helmet. The driver was not wearing a helmet. The passenger sustained serious injuries and was not conscious upon officers arrival. The driver was conscious but unable to move. The driver and passenger were transported by medical squad to Hillcrest Hospital. The passenger was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The driver was listed in stable condition.
