This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Friday, August 6th 2021 at approximately 1:18 am. The driver of gray Ford (2015) unsafe speed. Injuries were reported. An officer from Elyria Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit 2 was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Lowell St approaching Lake Ave. Unit 2 drove over railroad tracks near 400 Lowell St on grade at a high rate of speed; causing the undercarriage of Unit 2 to scrape against the roadway. Unit 2 then left the roadway (right); struck the curb; struck Unit 1 (an unoccupied parked vehicle); struck a tree; which consequentially ejected the operator of Unit 2. Unit 2 then continued traveling eastbound through an empty yard lot; eventually coming to a final rest in the parking lot of 316 Lowell St.
