This accident, involving 4 vehicles occurred on Thursday, July 15th 2021 at approximately 10:01 pm. The driver of white Nissan (2010) improper lane change. Injuries were reported. An officer from Columbus Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.

Unit 1 was e/b on I 70; east of S Hamilton Rd in the far right lane. Per Driver unit 2; unit 1 changed lanes and struck the front passenger side of unit 2. After that collision; unit 1 went straight into the median. Unit 1 hit the guard rail and went airborne into the lanes of 70W. Unit 3; which was 70 W; east of S Hamilton then hit unit 1. Some debris from that collision then hit unit 4. Passenger from unit 1 was pronounced at 2245 at Mt Carmel East Hospital. Driver of unit 3 was pronounced at scene by CFD Engine 23 at 2218. AIU responded and processed the scene. Driver of unit 1 stated that his passenger; who he had just picked up; grabbed the vehicle wheel causing the initial crash in the e/b lanes. Driver of unit 1 was treated and went to surgery at Mt Carmel East. Passenger from unit 3 was treated at Grant hospital. Neither party from unit 4 were injured. No one from unit 2 was injured as well.
